Come on, let's drum

In October we were joined by Steve from Unbeatable Energy for an African drumming class. Steve arrived with an abundance of djembe and Bugarabu drums. He was met with mild apprehension as lots of our members commented that they had little to no rhythm.

It wasn't long before Steve had the entire SHWI gang tapping out something that resembled a cohesive beat. By the end of the session you might have been fooled into thinking that we were well practised in African drumming, there was even a bit of free styling being added into the mix (maybe this was accidental but we managed to carry it off).

With Steve's energy and the shared feeling of accomplishment, it felt like a really positive meeting.
