About us.
The name Seven Hills refers to the (believed) seven hills that surround the city of Sheffield, and aptly reflects the diversity of the women in the group and the different areas from which they move around. Seven Hills WI formed in 2009 and is affectionately nicknamed SHWI. Over the years we have had various locations to accommodate the vast popularity of the group.
SHWI have enjoyed all sorts of activities, including belly dancing, burlesque, cooking and craftwork, and history wardrobe talks. What ever a member might fancy, we will endeavour to do! Our members are in there 20's to 70's.
Sub groups include supper club, book club, walking group and coffee & cake Sundays. Seven Hills WI has also been featured in local and national press we have participated in local events, especially food and beer festivals like Sunfest beer festival held at the Rising Sun.
SHWI is an inclusive, supportive and progressive organisation for all women. This is includes those that identify as Trans/Non-Binary.
The WI gives women: a voice in society, educational opportunities, and campaigns on issues that matter to its members and affect their communities.
